Beef Products at Costco Australia

I love to scorch up a nice piece steak or a quality burger on the gas burning monster grill out in my yard, and my favorite is the MSA graded Scotch fillet steak that Costco Australia sells. Costco has a range of beef products in their Australian warehouse stores including grain fed beef steaks, Wagyu steaks and quality beef mince. And if you want great value for money and the chance to prepare the cuts of steak to your preferred weight or thickness, they also offer all the steaks in whole, vacuum packed fillets. Here is a list of what to expect in the meat department at Costco Australia warehouses.

  1. Regarding meat in general, can anyone comment on the whether Costco sell their meats in North American cuts? I am looking for what the Americans call a “Pork Butt”.

    1. Hi Den…Costco have whole, vacuum packed “Pork ‘Scotch’ Collar Butt” at $9.99/kg. Have a look on the “Pork and Ham” post we did before Christmas for the pork products typically stock.

  6. Is Costco only using MSA graded beef, (no HGP in the beef)? I see they are msa on the cuts but are they following through with that for the beef mince. As they are also selling organic mince which would be Hormone Growth Proponent free. This suggests that the store lean mince might be made up of none msa beef.

  7. Hi,

I was hoping if anyone knows if they sell american style rib racks at costco? Any info would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    1. They do stock pork ribs that are close to American style from what I have been told by a friend who has an eye for American BBQ cuts. Unfortunatly the beef short ribs are off the bone.

  8. Please advise whether or not the beef, lamb, pork, and chicken sold at Costco is hormone and antibiotic free.

    1. I am not sure. I know that the beef is MSA graded, they do have some free-range chicken and all pork product are free range as well (no fattening pens).

  9. Hi There,
Just wondering if costco meat (except pork) is Halal certified, if so whats the brand names.
    Thanks & Regards
