The Joys of Kirkland Pure Maple Syrup and Pecans

I recently discovered the joys of Costco Bakery’s Maple Pecan Strudels.

This led to the purchase of almost a kilo of Kirkland Pecans and a 1litre jug of Kirkland Pure Canadian Maple Syrup to experiment with at home.

The first recipe I decided to try was a simple one, requiring just a couple of minutes prep and 5-8 minutes of baking.

Spiced Maple Glazed Pecans

There are loads of variations on this recipe which I am yet to try but this time I stuck with quick and easy.

Mix 2:1 maple syrup and unsalted melted butter in a deep bowl (I used about 2 tablespoons maple syrup) with sprinkle of salt and freshly cracked pepper to taste. Toss pecans through mix until compleatly coated (I added a few at a time till most of the liquid was gone) then pour onto a baking tray lined with baking paper.

Spread in a single layer and bake in a preheated oven at 180C for 5-8 minutes (watch carefully as they go from almost done to burnt very quickly!). When done remove from baking paper while still hot.

Will keep for a week in an airtight container.

Other variations include cayenne pepper, cumin, or cinnamon.

I will be adding more recipes as I try them so please check back regularly or let me know in the comments if you have a favorite Maple Pecan recipe I can try.
